Hawaiian Ukulele Workshop Saturday Sept 7- Songs of the 1930s to 60s

Guest ukulele artist Dennis Aigner will host a traditional Hawaiian ukulele workshop and play-along on Saturday, Sept. 7 at the Bozeman Public Library. The workshop begins at 11am in the library’s large meeting room, and is expected to run 90 minutes or so.

Aigner (of Ennis by way of California) picked up his first ukulele as a boy and soaked up traditional technique at workshops taught by Hawaiian artists. A diversely experienced musician and long-time collector of authentic ukulele music and lore, Aigner is looking forward to showing off a few ukuleles from his collection, sharing a bit of ukulele history, demonstrating Hawaiian ukulele techniques and leading a ukulele play-along on Hawaiian tunes from the 1930s to 1960s.

Bring your ukulele and strum and sing along: Dennis will provide sheet music and lead us on familiar tunes like Tiny Bubbles, Lovely Hula Hands, Pearly Shells and others.

The public is welcome and the workshop/play-along is free.

The Bozeman Public Library is located at 626 E. Main, downtown Bozeman.
