Hey, thanks all, for coming to the Ukulele Picnic at the Lindley Center. We met some new faces and ate some good eats and drank cold raspberry lemonade until we could hold no more. We played some songs, and did some serious damage to some others, but all walked away from the wreckage unscathed.
We had two ukulele makers in our midst. Jeremiah, with his hand-made harp-ulele, came all the way from Walkerville! And Timothy Ferguson brought one of his beautifully crafted ukes. Yes, his dad, Ren Ferguson is the well-known luthier — so this kid has a pretty good teacher. Tim’s not a bad singer, either!
Mark Sinclair (now known as Baker Mark, to distinguish him from Mark Classic) graced our table with European pastry samples from Sinclair’s Bakery. Our friend Carmel brought a sinful crumble made from fresh huckleberries that she claims to have picked with her own “10 thumbs.” And there were fresh garden veggies and all sorts of other good stuff.
Not to gloat, but if you weren’t there, you totally missed out! Maybe next year!
